We harvest as close to delivery time as possible. That means you get the freshest possible product and wilting is not likely. However, these things happen. As vegetables lose moisture, their cell walls start to sag.
Try these tips to rejuvenate wilting produce:
- For small leafy greens, submerge in ice water and allow to sit for 30 minutes. Drain and dry thoroughly (a salad spinner works best). This should rehydrate and crisp them right up.
- For larger greens or celery, cut off the ends and place them in a glass of ice water like a bouquet of flowers. Place in your refrigerator and they should perk back up.
- For carrots, and most other veggies, cut them in half lengthwise and soak in cold water for 15-20 minutes.
